- 2011 Acrylic painted turkey with leaves design by Wilsons Gourds – Karen painted her folk art design turkey while Paul B. Wilson added the final touch of leaves instead of feathers to this updated turkey design in 2011. Later Karen did a turkey with polymer clay for facial features and added leaves. We have found while traveling vending that the leaves hold up better than feathers sometimes, but we are willing to do either with our turkeys. Karen was even thinking adding some sunflowers instead too. So anything goes on the turkeys!!!!
- EXTRA EXTRA GOURD TURKEY ON DISPLAY!!!!! – A fun gourd to make into an extra extra large painted with acrylic turkey by Karen Wilson. Paul B. Wilson added the legs and feet that Karen painted also and feathers. A magnificent turkey just ready for Thanksgiving fun!!! Can now serve ham as turkey is done!!!! Treated with hand brushing on polyurethane semigloss two coats indoor/outdoor finish.
- Thanksgiving Turkey Design 2nd place ribbon IL State Gourd Competition, Clinton, IL 2008 – Karen Wilson painted this turkey design with acrylics and hubby Paul B. Wilson added turkey feathers to this piece. Wilsons turkeys are favorites of their customers, sometimes they add regular type feathers, legs and feet, and have even added leaves instead of flowers. Recently Karen tried polymer clay for the beak , eyes, and facial features to the turkey design. So our turkeys are always unique and different.
- Happy Thanksgiving from Wilsons Gourds 2011 – We were fortunate to have our friends Ken and Barbara Boucher come visit us and take a photo of our polymer clay turkey in the process of being finished. The turkey was finally dried from the polyurthene finish Paul applied and ready for his leaves instead of feathers in the back. Ken took the photo of us with two of our gourds that were just finished!!! Paul is holding the cow scene and Karen is holding the turkey. Both designs were painted by Karen. Happy Thanksgiving to all. God Bless all!!!!
