- Beginner’s Woodburning Class Workshops by Wilsons Gourds – This is the design for our beginner’s primitive woodburning class we offered at The Great Gourd Gathering at The Great Pumpkin Patch in Arthur, IL in June 2010. Students used a 950 degree wedge tip with a woodburning tool to woodburn this flower design on their gourds. This class was also taught at Lebanon, IL Lebanon Art Festival on June 26, 2011. Some of our students also decided to try hummingbird and flower designs.
- Belleville Farm Market, Gourd Workshop, August 6, 2011 – Students enjoyed using various gourd shapes to paint with acrylics their own designs on gourds to make ornaments. Everyone enjoyed the class. We had both children and two adults attend.
- Dried gourds for sale at Wilsons Gourds – Wilsons Gourds has many varieties of dried gourds for sale at reasonable prices. Give us a call. We use many of these types to do our various workshops with the public.
- Wilsons Gourds, dried gourds – Here are some of our gourd varieties that we sell inside our barn. We hang the gourds on linew with clothespins to dry after washing. We have lots of varieties for sale. We use some varieties you see in some of our workshops we teach to the public.
- 2010 Flower Birdfeeder Class, Mt. Vernon, IL Times Square Mall, at the Midwestern Herb and Garden Show – We always enjoy doing gourd workshops for Region 1 Illinois Gourd Society, at The Midwestern Herb and Garden Show, Times Square Mall, Mt. Vernon, IL. Here is a photo of one of our large classes. We even had family groups join us. What a wonderful awesome time we all had together.
- 2011 Flower Herb Vases at Midwestern Herb and Garden Show, Times Square Mall, Mt. Vernon, IL – This was a rather detailed workshop Wilsons Gourds did. Our students learned how to coil, weaves, paint, and design with herbs their own vases. The results were very impressive!!! What beautiful designs were made.
- Making a herb vase holder- Gourd Workshop, Times Square Mall, Mt. Vernon, IL February 2011 – Our students had the opportunity to learn many techniques to do on gourds with this workshop. Here they are learning to coil and weave the top of a gourd vase. Afterwards they used stencils and acrylics to paint their own designs. Then they finished their designs by adding dried herbs and potpourri. The result was awesome vases!!!!
- February 2011, Gourd Workshop at The Midwestern Herb and Garden Show, Times Square Mall, Mt. Vernon, IL Completed design – Our students learned many gourd art techniques with our herb vase gourd workshop. Wilsons Gourds taught students to coil, weaves, use stencils and acrylics to paint butterflies and flower designs, and design the inside of their vases with potpourri and various types of herbal flowers. The result as you can see is a beautiful vase to take home and enjoy. What a fun class.
- Workshop design for Gourd Workshop, Jefferson County Historical Society, Mt. Vernon, IL May 2011 – We enjoyed the workshop at the historical village in Mt. Vernon, IL. Here is the painted hummingbird and flower wren birdhouse design we taught using acrylics to paint a birdhouse. Most students painted hummingbirds, but we did have two that made their own birdhouse designs. All the birdhouses were lovely.
- Heritage Days Festival Saturday in June, 2011 Okawville, Il – Wilsons Gourds enjoyed sharing their gourds for youngsters to paint their own designs. They did a wonderful job.
- Painting gourds at Heritage Days Festival in June 2011, Okawville, IL – Children and parents enjoyed painting gourds to make into vairous ornaments to take home at The Heritage Days Festival in Okawville, IL June 2011. No gourds were left unpainted!!!! What fun they had!!!!

- Making Flower Birdfeeders Workshop Midwestern Herb and Garden Show 2010, Times Square Mall, Mt. Vernon, IL – We enjoyed doing this workshop very much. It is always nice seeing families join us with their children and grandchildren in making a gourd project. As you can see everyone seems to be having a good time working together.
- Woodburned workshop Hummingbird and rose design 2011 – This was our second class in primitive woodburning at The Great Pumpkin Patch in June 2011 at The Great Gourd Gathering. Students used a 950 degree watt wedge tip on a woodburning tool to woodburn a hummingbird with some roses on a gourd of their choice and make into a wren birdhouse. This design was also used some in Lebanon at the Art Festival workshop.
